Just why are you here? Right now, in the location, the circumstances of life, the relationships you’re involved in – why you? For what purpose? You’ll find the answer to those questions below:
Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.” (Isa 43:7 NAS)
The very reason you exist is to manifest God’s glory. To show the world who He is and what He is doing in your life. That sounds very “churchy” doesn’t it? Think about this: The chronic pain you struggle with, the frustration of parenting an angry teen, the sadness of another sleepless night wondering where your spouse is, the mural on the hallway wall drawn in marker by your toddler – all of life is an opportunity to display the very purpose of our creation. To enjoy and demonstrate the glory of God.
But what does that look like practically? It means to draw attention to who God is. To show others how He has worked in your life and will work in theirs if they but submit to Him. Jesus said it’s Matthew 5:16: letting others see your good works so that they glorify your Father in heaven.
Opportunities. We have a myriad of them every day. God never allows us an experience when we are not able to bring him glory. After all, He created us for that very reason.
Chance to interact: When do you find it hardest to believe that you can glorify God in your current circumstances?
