Thanks for stopping by to look at my blog! I am a husband, father (of 5) and, recently ‘resigned’ pastor in a rural church in northeast Indiana. I was on staff since April 2003. Formerly responsible for the Administration and Youth ministries in our church, I have recently set those duties aside and my wife and I have changed our ministry focus. We sense God leading us to a cross-cultural ministry, focusing on ministering to those suffering from the HIV/AIDs virus or those enslaved in the sex/human trafficking industry. I have been a Christian since December 25, 1998 when at the age of 30 God the Father drew me to Himself. I was, am and no doubt will continue to be, overwhelmed by the Grace of God. I live life dependent on that Grace. Drop a comment and let me know that you stopped by, won’t you?

Update: In June 2013, after selling all our possessions (except 11 suitcases worth), our family moved to Southeast Asia (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) to work with Destiny Rescue, focusing mainly on the aftercare of rescued girls from the sex industry. We finished our time there in February 2014. Now, back in the States, we are again in a position to seek out what God has for us. You can follow our day to day activities on our family’s Facebook page: On Mission with the Kelly Family. Make sure and “like” the page to receive these regular updates into your own Facebook timeline. Pray for us, and please, let us know you have dropped by – leave a comment and say “Hi!”

  1. Bryce, thanks for stopping by. The blog, as you can tell is fairly new; it’s a work in progress. By the way, my eldest son is named “Brice”. Great name. God bless!

  2. Mel – this is the blog that I started at the end of last year, originally to discuss what Puritan works I was reading – but then it fizzled out as I wasn’t able to keep up with either the reading or the discussions. My daily jolt blog is just ‘hanging out’ there in cyberspace for now. Thanks for stopping by! God bless!

  3. I am an employee of Shepherd Press and see that you have recently reviewed our newest release, “Get Outta My Face”. I would like your contact information so as to send you free review copies of books when they are released.

  4. Mark, Thanks for the shout out by posting my blog on Lemuel Haynes as your blog of the week. Much appreciated. And much needed to expose Evangelicals to the great Reformed African Americans of the faith. Bob

  5. Dear Author,

Thanks for having a Blog with a purpose and a mission. Thanks for holding up the light so others can see more clearly in the darkness- me being one of them. Your passion for the truth of the gospel is a great encouragement and challenge.

  6. Hey Mark, good to meet you. I see you read ‘This Momentary Marriage’. My wife and I are going through that as somewhat of a devotional – excellent book on marriage as you said. Right now, I’m reading ‘The Doctrines of Grace’ – James M. Boice and Philip G. Ryken. Good book as well.
If you’re interested, check out our blog (my pastor and I) at http://www.graftedinatthebranch.org.
I’ll be checking in to get book ideas and other thoughts – God bless you.

  7. Jason,
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and browse the blog. Thanks, also, for the recommendation on reading. I have on my shelf (to read) “the sovereignty of God” by Boice – but there are a couple of others in line before it. The book sounds excellent. I’ll swing by and check out your blog tonight.
    Grace to you,
    mark

  8. Mark,

Thanks for your review of my book “Evangelism in the New Testament.” Your gracious words are much appreciated.

I can’t help but wonder if the pic of you is at your home or office? I sell used and rare books on the internet part time and our house looks like a library, between my own theological library and those that we sell. My wife might find some comfort in knowing that there are others who share her fate: decorating with a book motif.

I’ll be visiting this blog often; it looks excellent. We’ll post a link to it on our evangelism update next week.

    Blessings,

    Jon

  9. Hey Jon,

Thanks for stopping by. Yes, the picture is in my office – I do have some books at home, but since it seems I do most of my study at the office, I keep the majority of them there. Do you have a link to your books that you sell – do you eBay, etc? Thanks for linking to it in your update, may we keep encouraging brothers and sisters to share the gospel of Jesus Christ!

    Grace,

  10. Thanks for stopping over at Defending Contending. I look forward to reading what you have over here. By the way, I think you need a bigger coffee cup! LOL

  12. Hello Pastor Mark

I am new to your blogs but I am very impressed by your post. I too have a grace blog here on wordpress because I know the importance of God’s grace in my life. I seek to share that grace with others while I also continue to learn and be awed by God the Father himself. Graciouswriting.wordpress.com
